I was looking through Prince Winglet's char page, and I happened to be thinking aloud to myself at the time. I realized that what I was thinking sounded rather important, and so here I am, putting forth a suggestion.
You see, I came across his cutie mark's description again and, because it is a crucible with wings attached, I made a joke to myself: "Well, what does that mean? That he's very good at blacksmithing while in the air?"
I understand that it has to do with his disfigured flight appendages, however I don't know how exactly it ties into a skill. I'm assuming that it means he's good at metalworking, but I cannot know for sure. Therefore, I suggest making a description of the cutie mark mandatory (and, naturally, will be editing my own immediately). What do you think?

I think this is a great idea, I often have trouble with this. Thank you for the suggestion.

actually, that is true, but from what I have seen a pony's cutie mark doesn't always seem to be directly connected to their talent. I mean, if you looked at twilight's cutie mark without knowing anything about the show, would you think her talent was magic? maybe but I would first think of something like astronomy or something like that. same goes with rainbow's. or the little filly in the beginning of "the fault in our cutie marks" that is why the cmc are in business after all.

I suppose, but in my experience there's always a reason to the cutie marks, even if it's obscure. I believe this should be stated--the character page is an OOC omniscient information source on the character, after all.
