Frost had been working with the former Unicorn Prince for a few weeks now. Learning her way around the castle. Being taught table manners to the extreme, learning how to be a public face, and many more tasks that were rather boring. Despite the boringness of her classes, she could see how much she would have to do as the Unicorn Princess. She knew that the Pegasus and Earth Pony would be here soon, to help her, but the pegasus had to moniter the skies, and the earth pony had miles and miles of farms to look after. She groaned and flopped onto her bed, which was much too big for her. She lied on her back and looked up at the domed ceiling. A flick of her horn and the ceiling seemed to melt away, replaced glass to reveal a glittering night sky. That was the one thing she could get used to in this place.
She lay there for awhile, but at some point felt restless. They said the Pegasus was to be there tomorrow, and as the thought entered her mind, she became too excited to sleep. She rolled out of bed, and with another flick of her horn, the ceiling rolled back up. She trotted out the door and down the hall, nodding to the gaurds as she passed them. Her eventual goal was to end up in the kitchen for a glass of milk, but she was in no hurry. The marble walls and jewel decorations dazzeled her eyes. The thick carpet was soft under her feet, and several times she stopped to roll around on it.
The castle was huge, too big for most, but Frost was delighted with it's majesty. After climbing a considerable amount of stairs, she found she was in the Watch-Tower, the tallest tower in the castle. She stepped out to the balconey and acknowledged the gaurds, then stepped to the very edge and placed her hoof onto the railing. She saw the city extending for miles. The dazzling structures of the inner circle. She looked past the shops and stores of the outer circle to the residential area. A tear leapt to her eyes as she thought of her home, even though she could visit whenever she wanted. She stepped away from the balconey and began to decend down the stairs, knowing that she and her family had been severed, and nothing she could do would stop that.
As she walked down the halls, getting lower, closer to the kitchen, another feeling arrived, although she wasn't sure what it was. All she thought was to protect her country, her people, her entire family. For no longer was she a small part of a whole, but a mother to a very, very large family. She was pulled from her thoughts quite suddenly though, as she felt herself tripping and crashing into somepony. She gasped, surprised, and started stuttering through "I'm sorry!", frantically helping the pony up.
